Projectiles include pellets, buck shots, balls, and bullets, among others. , intended to harm.

They are launched into the air by the gases created when a firearm discharges its propellants. In addition to their ballistics, they differ in terms of construction materials, shapes, and sizes.

The projectiles used in firearms have evolved as is customary.

Most likely, a handy-sized stone served as the first projectile for the gun.

The imitation of an arrowhead was likely the next logical step. But eventually, spherical projectiles took over and dominated the market for a very long time. They still do so today and are used in smooth bore firearms.

Further research showed that a spherical shape was ineffective from a ballistic standpoint. Bullets with conical ends replaced it. Additionally, arrow-like projectiles are being reintroduced.

A water balloon dropped from a window high above the ground falls y = 4.9t2 m in t sec. find the balloon’s (a) average speed dur
satela [25.4K]
For the average speed, I multiplied 4.9 by 3 squared to receive 44.1, then divided that by 3 to receive 14.7 m/s. 4.9 X 4.9 X 4.9 = 44.1(Distance traveled / fall time)44.1 ÷ 3 = 14.7 m/s

For the speed at t = 3, I took the derivative of 4.9t2 to make it 2(4.9)t and then plugged in 3 to receive an answer of 29.4 m/s. derivative   =2(4.9)t                    =2(4.9)3                    =29.4 m/s

In each of the given pairs, choose which element will have the bigger atom. Give reasons for your choice. (a) Mg (atomic number
Dafna1 [17]

Answer:

Mg (atomic number 12)

K (atomic number 19)

Explanation:

The size of an atom is estimated in terms of its atomic radius.

The atomic radius is taken as half of the inter-nuclear distance between two covalently bonded atoms of non-metallic elements or half of the distance (d) between two nuclei in the solid - state of metals.

  • Across a period, atomic radii decrease progressively from left to right.
  • This is due to the progressive increase in the nuclear charge without increase in the number of electronic shells.
  • Down a group, atomic radii increase progressively due to the successive shells of electrons being added which have been compensated for by the increase in nuclear charge.

Cl is further right of Mg in the third period

K is below Na in the first group
