Eukaryotes that reproduce through reproduction require two cells to contribute genetic material for the production of the next generation is true.

What is genetic material?

Genetic material is defined as anything with genetic information that can be passed from one generation to the next, whether it be from a plant, animal, microbial, or other source.

It can also be defined as the means by which knowledge is passed from one generation to another.

There are basically three types of genetic materials.

 • DNA
 • RNA
 • Genes

Some of the properties of genetic materials are:

 • It has to be secure.
 • When necessary, it must be able to be expressed.
 • It must be able to replicate information accurately.
 • It must be passed unchanged from father to offspring.

Thus, eukaryotes that reproduce through reproduction require two cells to contribute genetic material for the production of the next generation is true.

A certain restriction enzyme digest results in DNA fragments of the following sizes: 4,000 bp, 2,500 bp, 2,000 bp, and 400 bp. S
Paladinen [302]

Answer:

Smaller the size of the DNA fragment, farther it moves during electrophoresis. The sketch of the position of the fragments has been drawn in the figure below.

Explanation:

As we know DNA is a negatively charged molecule. So during electrophoresis the fragments move towards the positive electrode because opposite charges attract each other.

Different fragment move different distances according to their size during the electrophoresis. Smallest segment travels the largest distance in the gel medium while the largest one travels least distance.

In the question there are four DNA fragments with base pairs 4000, 2500, 2000 and 400 so the smallest segment with 400bp will be farthest from the starting point and the largest fragment with 4000bp will travel least distance in the gel medium. Their respective positions are shown in the figure below. The starting point is near the negative electrode.

the nurse completes dietary teaching with a client who has chronic kidney failure. the nurse determines more teaching is needed
VashaNatasha [74]

Answer:

The options

"I will eat more oranges and other foods with vitamin C."

"I should increase dairy products in my diet."

"I should add protein powder to my fruit smoothies."

The CORRECT ANSWER IS

"I will eat more oranges and other foods with vitamin C."

Explanation:

"I will eat more oranges and other foods with vitamin C."

Citrus fruits are rich in potassium and should be stayed away from, since kidneys find it difficult to remove the excess potassium. Examples of foods that are rich in potassium are dried fruits, avocado, tomato, potatoes, and bananas. This statement indicates that additional teaching is needed.

In kidney failure, the client stands a higer chance for hyperkalemia, hypernatremia, and hyperphosphatemia.

Potassium, is found in large amounts in citrus fruits and dried fruits, and there's need to take these fruits with caution.

Phosphorus is limited due to the important balance of potassium electrolyte with calcium. Protein is inhibited as the failure to remove uric acid, which is produced during protein metabolism, via the kidneys. Sodium, obtained in foods, is also restrained to avoid fluid overload and edema.
