Adenine and guanine are purine bases. These are structures composed of a 5-sided and 6-sided ring. Cytosine and thymine are pyrimidines which are structures composed of a single six-sided ring. Adenine always binds to thymine, while cytosine and guanine always bind to one another.

Point mutations occur when only one nucleotide is altered affecting only one location or point of the DNA strand.

While Frameshift mutations are caused by the deletion or insertion of a number of nucleotides.

These altered nucleotides affect the triple nature of gene expression disturbing the whole reading frame. All the codons after mutation are different translating a completely different protein. That's why frameshift mutations cause more problems than point mutations.
