Now, According to he question;

The function is:

f(n) = 1.5 + 0.5(n - 1)

and  overdue library book defined by the function f (10-3)

f(10 - 3) = f(7) =  1.5 + 0.5 (7 - 1)

f(7) = 1.5 + 0.5 x 6

     = $4.50

Hence, $4.50 overdue library book defined by the function f (10-3).
