By using the coefficient of linear expansion, the increase in the length of the metal plate is by 0.015m and in the area is by 0.3074m^2.

The rate of change in length of a metal per degree change in temperature is known as the coefficient of linear expansion.

Given:

Coefficient of linear expansion, α = 29 x 10^-^6/k

Length, L1 = 10m

T1 = 25℃

T2 = 78℃

ΔT = 78 – 25 = 53℃

To find:

Change in length (ΔL) and area (ΔA) of metal plate = ?

Formula:

ΔL = α L1 ΔT

ΔA = A1 2 α ΔT

Calculations:

ΔL = 29 x 10^-^6 x 10 x 53

ΔL = 0.01537m

ΔA = 100 x 2 x 29 x 10^-^6 x 53

ΔA = 0.3074m^2

A2 = 100.3074m^2

Result:

The increase in the length and area is by 0.015m and 0.3074m^2 respectively.

Echoic sensory memory is used when a lightning bolt flashes across the sky.
Ahat [919]
If the statement above answers whether the statement is true or false, then the answer is false. It is not true that the echoic sensory memory is used when a lightning bolt flashes across the sky because it does not have that kind of capacity. The echoic sensory memory is the one responsible for the auditory information.

A Van Der Graaf generator is used to build up charges on the outside of a sphere. A belt is charged with electrons by rubbing ag
Nikolay [14]

Answer:

"When neutral objects are brought near the sphere, they are attracted to the sphere before they touch each other."

Explanation:

Charging by induction is said to occur when an uncharged object is brought near a charged body and it gets attracted towards it without even the two bodies touching.

The charged body polarizes the uncharged body. The charges shift to either sides and that causes the force of attraction between the two.

Suppose a negatively charged body is brought close to an uncharged body. The electrons of the body repel from the side near to the charged body and shift to the other end leaving behind positive ions.

The last line of the given paragraph indicates that charges can be moved by induction.

Answer:

b. He would become farsighted.

Explanation:

A  cataract is defined as a medical condition where a person eyes becomes partially opaque and the person is not bale to see properly.

This is mainly caused due to aging or any injury in the eyes tissue which make up the lens of the eye.

It is the clouding of the lens of the eyes or opacity of the eyes. When treating cataract, in some cases the lens of the eyes are needed to be  removed. This may lead to person becoming far sighted.

Therefore, the correct option is (b).
