IMA is also equal to the product of the load's travel distance (dr) and the distance over which the effort is applied (de).

The Handle of the car jack = 75cm

The car lifted by the jack = 2.5cm

According to the formula:

Ideal mechanical advantage =  The resistance force /  The effort force

or, (Fr/Fe)

IMA = 75 / 2.5

IMA = 30cm

Hence, Ideal mechanical advantage of the car jack = 30cm
