How did geography make it possible for the United States to follow Washington’s policy for over a hundred years?

History

Washington's foreign policy was centred on preserving the independence of the young country and averting costly and fatal conflicts. European nations looked for every chance to undercut American sovereignty during Washington's first term.

Washington contends that although temporary alliances may be required in times of great peril, the government should steer clear of lasting alliances with any other countries. According to him, existing accords should be respected but not extended.

George Washington had strong opinions on the need to manage foreign policy effectively and the potential repercussions for the United States if it were not.

He highlighted that the US shouldn't become unduly entangled with any particular foreign country, particularly those that don't share American principles. Washington held the view that dealing too closely with a foreign power would enable that country to have a say in American domestic affairs.

Geographical factors helped the US expand rather fast. America is endowed with an abundance of natural resources, the greatest tract of arable land in the world, and a vast river system that may be used for transportation and shipping. Thus maintaining a good foreign policy has been relatively easier.

Prisoners on the death march were supplied with which of the following? a.Nothing.
Fofino [41]
Prisoners on death marches were supplied with (A) nothing.

Prisoners were forced to march long distances without food or water. If they fell while walking, and could not keep up with the others, they were shot and killed. Given no food and water, some survived the marches by grabbing what they could find along the way, including grass, grubs and occasional potatoes found in the fields. Their treatment was horrid.

ANSWER: (A) nothing

Imagine that time travel exists. what would surprise a knowledgeable observer in the period from 500 to 1000
Sliva [168]

Answer and explanation;

Several changes would undoubtedly have surprised a knowledgeable observer, including;

- the emergence of Islam;

- the revival of China and Western Europe;

-the collapse of the Byzantine Empire;

-the emergence of Russia and the spread of Christianity into that region;

-the emergence of states in Southeast Asia;

-the emergence of Japan;

-the emergence of powerful empires in West Africa.

However, some features would still be recognizable, such as;

- the persistence of Paleolithic, agricultural village, and herding societies;

-the continuance, albeit at a more intense rate, of long-distance commerce and exchange;

-the persistence of broad cultural traditions, especially in the Mesoamerican, Andean, Chinese, European, and Indian civilizations.

n Article V of the United States Constitution, the amendment process is explained. Why did the Framers include provisions for am
Marina CMI [18]
The Founding Fathers of the US included provisions for amending the Constitution so that it can adapt as American society changes. This group of men realized that America was going to constantly change. This is why in the preamble of the Constitution they included the fact that they were making the Constitution in order to form a "more perfect union." This phrasing indicates the the current laws they have are not perfect and that they may need to be changed later on. This is why the Founding Fathers made it so that the Senate and House of Representatives could make changes to the Constitution.
