36 and 144

Explanation

Two Angles are Supplementary when they add up to 180 degrees

Step 1

Let

x= angle 1

y= angle2

The measure of one angle is four times the measure of the other angle,then

\begin{gathered} \text{angle}1=4\cdot\text{angle}2\text{    } \\ x=4y\text{   Equation(1)} \end{gathered}

x and y are supplementary angles , then

x+y=180\text{   Equation (2)}

Step 2

use Equation (1) and (2) to find x and y

\begin{gathered} x=4y \\ x+y=180 \end{gathered}

replace Equation (1) in Equation (2)

\begin{gathered} 4y+y=180 \\ 5y=180 \\ y=\frac{180}{5} \\ y=36 \end{gathered}

replace the value of y= 36 in equation (1) to find x

\begin{gathered} x=4y \\ x=4\cdot36 \\ x=144 \end{gathered}

Hence, the answer is 36 and 144

An arithmetic sequence a starts 2, 5, . .
Whitepunk [10]

Answer:

Tn = 3n-1

T6 = 17

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the arithmetic sequence;

2, 5...

first term a = 2

Common difference d = 5-2 = 3

nth term of an AP is expressed as Tn = a + (n-1)d

Tn = 2 + (n-1)(3)

Tn = 2 + 3n-3

Tn = 3n-1

Get the 6th term

T6 = 3(6)-1

T6 = 18-1

T6 = 17

Hence the 6th term of the sequence is 17

Joe, John and Jason are each a year apart in age. If the
-Dominant- [34]

Answer:

Jason is 14 year old.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: Joe, John and Jason are each a year apart in age.

           Sum of their age is 39.

Lets assume the age of Joe be x

∴ Age of Jahn will be (x+1)

And age of Jason will be (x+2)

Now, putting up an equation for the sum of their age.

∴ x+(x+1)+(x+2)= 39

Opening the parenthesis.

⇒x+x+1+x+2= 39

⇒3x+3= 39

Subtracting both side by 3

⇒ 3x= 36

Dividing both side by 3

⇒x= \frac{36}{3}

∴ x= 12\ years

Hence, Joe is 12 year old.

Next subtituting the value of x to find age of Jason and John.

Jason= (x+2)= 12+2

∴Jason= 14 years.

John age= (x+1)= 12+1

∴ John Age= 13 years.

Hence, Jason is 14 year of age.
