If there are 100 individuals in a population and 20 are homozygous for b, 60 are heterozygous, and 20 are homozygous for b, the allele frequency of b is 50%.

Allele frequency, sometimes referred to as gene frequency, is the percentage or fractional frequency of an allele (gene variant) at a certain location in a population. What is being discussed is the proportion of chromosomes in the population that carry that allele in comparison to the entire population or sample size. The slow change in allele frequencies within a population is known as microevolution.

Taking into consideration:

1. A particular allele at a particular chromosomal region.

2. A collection of N individuals with ploidy n, which denotes that each individual's somatic cells have n copies of each chromosome (e.g. two chromosomes in the cells of diploid species).

If an allele is found in a population on I chromosomes, the allele frequency is the proportion of all I occurrences of that allele to the total number of copies of the chromosome in the population (nN). Despite being related, the genotype frequency and the allele frequency are separate and one can infer the other from the other.

Explain why tropical rainforests contain a large variety of plants and animals
UkoKoshka [18]

Answer:

Climate: because rainforests are located in tropical regions, they receive a lot of sunlight. ... This energy is stored in plant vegetation, which is eaten by animals. The abundance of energy supports an abundance of plant and animal species.

Explanation:

Tropical rain forests are warm and wet, and the temperature does not vary much. Because of this, a huge variety of plants can live in tropical rain forests. Because there are so many kinds of plants, there are habitats for many different kinds of animals as well.

Sort the terms and phrases as to whether they function in or describe primary growth or secondary growth?
Oduvanchick [21]

Answer:

Explanation:

An increase in length of the shoot and the root is termed to as primary growth of a plant. It occurs as a result of cell division in the apical meristem. Secondary growth is identified by an increase in thickness or girth of the plant caused by cell division in the cambia or lateral meristems.

1) apical meristem- primary growth

2) cork cambium - secondary growth

3) elongation - primary growth

4) provides structural support - secondary growth

5) increases exposure to light - primary growth

6) increases vascular flow - secondary growth

7) growth in thickness - secondary growth

8) occurs in plants that live many years - both primary and secondary growth

9) occurs in plants that live only one year - primary growth

10) lateral meristem - secondary growth

11) vascular cambium - secondary growth.
