Answer:

The value of x,y and z is;

\begin{gathered} x=5.92 \\ y=7.75 \\ z=9.17 \end{gathered}

Explanation:

We want to find the values of x,y and z.

Given the figure in the attached image;

The triangle is divided into two similar triangles and the ratio of their sides will be equal;

\frac{x}{5}=\frac{7}{x}

solving for x; cross multiply

\begin{gathered} x^2=7(5) \\ x^2=35 \\ x=\sqrt[]{35} \\ x=5.92 \end{gathered}

To get the value of y and z, we can use Pythagorean theorem or still applt the method above;

\begin{gathered} \frac{y}{5}=\frac{(5+7)}{y} \\ y^2=5(12) \\ y^2=60 \\ y=\sqrt[]{60} \\ y=7.75 \end{gathered}

For z;

\begin{gathered} \frac{z}{7}=\frac{(5+7)}{z} \\ z^2=7(5+7) \\ z^2=7(12) \\ z^2=84 \\ z=\sqrt[]{84} \\ z=9.17 \end{gathered}

The value of x,y and z is;

\begin{gathered} x=5.92 \\ y=7.75 \\ z=9.17 \end{gathered}

show one way to count from $82 to $512 without subtraction or multiplication, but on a number line? This is me tryin to understa
slega [8]
Okay, so we start at '$82'

$82

let's add $100

$82+$100=$182

lets add another 100

$82+$100+$100=$282

lets add another $100

$82+$100+$100+$100=382

lets add another $100

$82+$100+$100+$100+$100=$482

Now we can't add another $100, since that will take us to $582, and we need to get to $512, so lets add $20....

$82+$100+$100+$100+$100+$20=$502

Okay, we're getting really close! Let's add $10.

$82+$100+$100+$100+$100+$20+$10=$512

(If you were to show your work on a number line, you would simply keep moving up by $100 until you couldn't anymore, and then move up by $20, and finally by $10, until we get to $512)

a simpler way to solve this...

Okay, so we start at '$82'

$82

let's add $400

$82+$400=$482

now lets add $30

$82+$400+$30=$512

**Hope this helps....

Helen [10]

Answer:

H. 32w = 496

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the length is 32 and you have the total area all you have to do is divide 496 by 32. And because w stands for width, you just solve for w.

I hope this helps :)

Find the solution of this system of equations. separate the x- and y- values with a comma.
jonny [76]
X - 2y = -29
x - y = -11

first solve for x in the first equation;
x = 2y - 29

now substitute it into the second equation;
x - y = -11

2y - 29 - y = -11
y - 29 = -11

solve for y;
y - 29 = -11
y = -11 + 29
y = 18

solve for x by substituting what y equals;
x = 2y - 29
x = 2(18) - 29
x = 7

so your answer is, (7, 18)

hope this helped!! blessings x
