Mitosis can occur in both haploid and diploid cells because it is equational division where the number of chromosomes remain the same after division. But meiosis cannot happen in haploid cells because it is reductional division and haploid cells do not have any extra copy of chromosomes to be halved.

Mitosis is the cell division where the number of chromosomes do not change after cell division. It usually happens in the somatic cells of the body. Cancer cells also undergo mitosis

Meiosis is the cell division where the number of chromosomes are halved after cell division. The process of meiosis occurs in two phases: meiosis I and meiosis II. The germ cells of the body undergo meiosis.

The R locus determines flower color in a new plant species. Plants that are genotype RR have red flowers, and plants that are rr
tatiyna

Answer:

The correct answer will be- Non-Mendelian inheritance (incomplete dominance)

Explanation:

Incomplete dominance is a type of inheritance pattern observed in nature in which none of the two alleles completely show their effect and produces a third type of phenotype which is different from the phenotype of both the parents.

In the given question, since the cross of red flower and white flower produces a third type of flower color known as pink during F₁ generation is the result of the incomplete effect of both the alleles.

Cross

RR (red) x rr (white) = Rr (pink)

Thus, incomplete dominance is the correct answer.
