A single stranded DNA (oligonucleotides) can hybridize with (d) both complementary DNA and complementary RNA.

DNA is the Deoxyribonucleic Acid. It is the genetic material present in majority of organisms. The nitrogenous bases present in DNA are: Adenine, thymine, Guanine and Cytosine. DNA is a double stranded structure hence it forms hydrogen bonds with a complementary strand. The complementary strand can be of a DNA or RNA.

RNA is the Ribonucleic Acid. It also is a genetic material present in very few organisms. RNA is less stable than the DNA and may be either single stranded or double stranded. The nitrogenous bases of RNA are: Adenine Uracil, Guanine and Cytosine.

pshichka [43]

Answer:

The condition is called "Spinal Bifida", caused by lack of vitamin B12 which helps regenerate the active form of folate.

Explanation:

Because Lori is a vegan, her vitamin B12 intake which comes from animal products such as meat, is not enough. She has to take supplements to make up for the lack of it in her diet.

As stated in the question, this lack of vitamin B12 causes her child to have a defect in his spinal cord called Spinal Bifida that defines a spinal cord or spine that has not fully developed. The vitamin B12 is necessary for regenerating the active form of folate.

I hope this answer helps.

Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disorder in homozygous recessives that causes death during the teenage years. If 9 in 10,000 newbor
padilas [110]

Answer:

f(A1) = 0.9700, f(A2) = 0.0300

Explanation:

The frequency of homozygous recessive genotype of children is

\frac{9}{10000} \\= 0.0009

As per Hardy weinberg's equation, frequency of homozygous recessive genotype is represented by

q^2

Here q^2 = 0.0009

Thus, frequency of recessive allele would be

\sqrt{q^2}\\ = \sqrt{0.0009}\\ = 0.03

as per first law of Hardy weinberg

p+q = 1\\p = 1- 0.03\\p = 0.97

Hence, option C is correct

The codons that signal the end of a polypeptide chain are called?
TEA [102]

Answer:

The codons that signal the end of a polypeptide chain are called the terminators.

Explanation:

The codons that signal the end of a polypeptide chain are called the terminators.

A codon is a series of 3 DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) or RNA (ribonucleic acid) nucleotides which corresponds to a particular amino acid or just stop the signals which are sent during the protein synthesis.

The terminators are the codons (also called termination codons) which signal the end of the polypeptide chain during the process of translation.
