The number of real solution of the system y = 3x^2 and y = 3x - 2 is zero

The system of equations are

y = 3x^2

y = 3x - 2

Then the equation will be

3x^2 = 3x - 2

Move 3x - 2 to the left hand side of the equation

3x^2 - 3x + 2 = 0

Find the value of b^2 - 4ac

Here value of a = 3

The value of b = -3

The value of c = 2

Substitute the values in the expression

= (-3)^2 - 4×3×2

= 9 - 24

= -15

Here the value of b^2 - 4ac is -15

Therefore there is no real valued solution

Hence, the number of real solution of the system y = 3x^2 and y = 3x - 2 is zero

In the slope intercept form equation of a line (y=ax+b) a represents the slope, and b represents the intercept, which is -5. Thus, we know y=ax-5. The slope can be found by creating a fraction with the change in y value on top, and the change of x value on the bottom. If we have two points (4, 1) and (0, -5) we can put this into a fraction - \frac{-5-1}{0-4}, which simplifies down to -6/-4, or 3/2. Thus the answer is f(x)=\frac{3}{2}x-5

Select the two values of x that are roots of this equation.
2x2 + 7x + 6 = 0
SVEN [57.7K]
Hopes this helps:

Answer: x = -10/7

1. Simplify 2 • 2 to 4
4 + 7x + 6 = 0

2. Simplify 4 + 7x + 6 to 7x + 10.
7x + 10 = 0

3. Subtract 10 from both sides.
7x = -10

4. Divide both sides by 7.
X = -10/7
