Answer:

y = (-5/3)x - 4

Explanation:

The equation of a line with slope m that goes through the point (x1, y1) is:

y-y_1=m(x-x_1)_{}

Additionally, two lines are parallel if they have the same slope.

The slope of the line y = (-5/3)x - 2 is (-5/3) because it is the number beside x.

So, the slope of our line is also -5/3.

Therefore, replacing m by -5/3 and (x1, y1) by (-3, 1), we get that the equation of the line is:

\begin{gathered} y-1=-\frac{5}{3}(x-(-3)) \\ y-1=-\frac{5}{3}(x+3) \end{gathered}

Finally, solving for y, we get:

\begin{gathered} y-1=-\frac{5}{3}x-(\frac{5}{3}\cdot3) \\ y-1=-\frac{5}{3}x-5 \\ y=-\frac{5}{3}x-5+1 \\ y=-\frac{5}{3}x-4 \end{gathered}

So, the answer is:

y = (-5/3)x - 4

Find the standard deviation of the distribution in the following situations. (Round your answers to two decimal places.) (a) MEN
Arturiano [62]

Answer:

a) 15.579

b) 39.019

Step-by-step explanation:

a) For the top 2% the z-value from the z table

z = 2.054

thus,

z = \frac{\textup{X-Mean}}{\sigma}

here

X = 132

Mean = 100

thus,

2.054 = \frac{\textup{132-100}}{\sigma}

or

σ = 15.579

b) Using tables, we get for Z = 0.89 the value of 0.8133 and for Z= 0.90 the value of 0.8159

By interpolation, values for 0.815 and we get Z=0.897

thus,

z = \frac{\textup{X-Mean}}{\sigma}

here

X = 220

Mean = 185

thus,

0.897 = \frac{\textup{220-185}}{\sigma}

or

σ = 39.019

Medal award ceremonies are held after each event. The following three flags are used to represent the gold, silver, and bronze m
LUCKY_DIMON [66]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Having the information on how many events there are and how many people in each event there would help me personally solve this

what i can tell you is its a probability thing a tree diagram is starting with something, like flipping a coin, and creating a branch for heads and tails, 0.5 for each branch. like the attachment I have on here. there's only 2 probable results from a coin, but if I have 5 events with 50 competitors I've created a lot more probable outcomes, it also depends on the events, if one of my competitors in 6'9" and ones 5'2" and the event is a dunk contest it would be slightly unfair and the probability of the person who is 5'2" changing your tree diagram :)
