Answer:

John is currently 6 years old.

Step-by-step explanation:

2 years ago: x years

Current time: x+2

In 6 years: x+8

EQUATION:

3(x)=x+8= 3x=x+8

(subract x from both sides)

2x=8

x=4

Therefore, John is 6 years old in current time

Ad libitum [116K]

Answer:

8.04 units

Step-by-step explanation:

By Pythagoras Theorem:

{x}^{2}  =  \bigg( \frac{25.2}{2}  \bigg)^{2}  -  {(9.7)}^{2}  \\  \\  {x}^{2}  = ( 12.6)^{2}  -  {(9.7)}^{2}  \\  \\  {x}^{2}  = 64.67 \\  \\ x =  \sqrt{64.67}  \\  \\ x = 8.04176598 \\  \\ x \approx \: 8.04

Dan earns £8.30 per hour how much will he earn for 9 hours work
Nana76 [90]

Hey there!

\large\boxed{\$74.70}

The unit rate is 8.30 for every hour.

If he earns $8.30 an hour and works 9 hours, multiply 8.30 by 9.

8.30 x 9 = 74.70

Hope this helps!

A scuba diver descends in the water at a rate of 23 1/2
Makovka662 [10]

The scuba diver's position relative to sea level after the 4.6 minutes is 5.1 ft.

Given:

A scuba diver descends in the water at a rate of 23 1/2  feet per minute for 2.6 minutes.

A scuba diver ascends at a rate of 28 feet per minute for 2 minutes after seeing a big fish.

To find :

The scuba diver's position relative to sea level after the 4.6 minutes.

Solution:

Rate of a scuba diver descending in the water for 2.6 minutes = R _1

R_1= 23\frac{1}{2}ft/min=\frac{47}{2} ft/min

Distance covered by a scuba diver in 2.6 minutes = d_1

d_1=R_1\times 2.6min=\frac{47}{2} ft/min\times 2.6 min=61.1 ft

Rate of a scuba diver ascending for 2 minutes = R _2

R_2= 28ft/min

Distance covered by a scuba diver in 2 minutes = d_2

d_2=R_2\times 2min=28 ft/min\times 2 =56 ft

The position of scuba diver after 4.6 minutes relative to sea level:

d_1-d_2=61.1 ft-56 ft=5.1ft

The scuba diver's position relative to sea level after the 4.6 minutes is 5.1ft.

Help please, I’m confused and could you please explain the best you can do I understand? Thank you so much if you decide to help

A ray is basically a line that has a "fixed point" on one end (this would be represented by a shaded circle on one end) and the opposite end goes to infinity (this would be represented by an arrow). The first image below is an example of a ray.

When writing rays out you must write it like in the third image below. Note that there is a "ray" on top of the "letters". The letter that signifies the end point (In the example below this would be "A") is under the side that has NO arrow symbol, and the letter that signifies the continues end is under the side of the ray that HAS the arrow. In other words the "formula" for writing out rays is:

End point; infinite end

We must find four rays with the endpoint E. This means that the "fixed point" must be E and the other end must continue indefinitely.

In the second image below I have colored each ray with the end point E in a different color.

First we have the ray EA (I don't know how to make the ray symbol on here so just assume that above EA the arrow looks like so: --->)

Next is ray EG (again the symbol above EG is --->)

Next is the ray ED (symbol above ED is --->)

Finally EF is a ray with the end point E (symbol above EF is --->)

When looking at the answer choices the only two that even use the correct symbol is B and C.

The issue with option C is that the end point (E) doesn't come first when they wrote it out.

That makes the answer B!

Hope this helped!
