We can determine the value of the adult ticket cost and student ticket cost by following these steps:

1. solve form one of the variables from one of the equations

Let's solve for a from 2a + 2s = 40

2a + 2s = 40

2a + 2s - 2s = 40 - 2s

2a = 40 - 2s

2a/2 = 40/2 - 2s/2

a = 20 - s

2. Replace the expression found and solve for s

4a + 5s = 87

4(20 - s) + 5s = 87

4×20 - 4×s + 5s = 87

80 - 4s + 5s = 87

80 + s = 87

80 - 80 + s = 87 - 80

s = 7

3. Replace 7 for s into a = 20 - s

a = 20 - 7

a = 13

Then, a = 13 and s = 7.

Then the adult ticket cost is $13 and the student ticket cost is $7

Elena randomly chooses a number from 1 to 10. What is the probability she chooses a number greater than 5?
Pepsi [2]

Answer:

The probability that she chooses a number greater than 5 is 5 of 10.

Step-by-step explanation:

The probability that she chooses a number greater than 5 is 5 of 10 because there are only 5 numbers that are greater than 5 and up to 10.

123 is a linear pair with the inside angle so
180-124= 57. Now we have two inside angles and a triangle has to be 180 degrees so
57+42=99 we know that both angles equals 99 so
180-99=80. The third angle is 81 and is a linear pair with x soooo
180-81=99
X is equal to 99. You can also do corresponding angles and have X be 99 because of the inside angle that’s also 99

Matt is five years older than twice his cousin andy’s age. the sum of their ages is less than 35. what is the greatest age that
vazorg [7]
Since there are two unknowns, Matt's age and Andy's age, we need to formulate two algebraic equations in order to solve the system. The first independent equation that we could form, is the relation ship of their ages. Suppose we let Matt's age be equal to x. Andy's age will be denoted as y. Then,

x = 5 + 2y

The second independent equation would be the sum of their ages:
x + y ≤ 35
As you can observe, I used an inequality with the symbol ≤ which means less than or equal to. It means that their sum could be less than or equal to 35. So, the equation is

x + y ≤ 35

Solving the equation,
5 + 2y + y ≤ 35
3y ≤ 35-5
3y ≤ 30
y ≤ 10

Thus, Andy's greatest age could be 10 years old.
