Strong solute-solvent attractions increase solubility of ionic compounds. Ionic compounds are most soluble in polar solvents like water, because the ions of the solid are strongly attracted to the polar solvent molecules.

COMMON-ION EFFECT

Ionic compounds are less soluble is solvents that contain a common ion. For example, CaSO₄ is slightly soluble in water.

CaSO₄(s) ⇌ Ca²⁺(aq) + SO₄²⁻(aq)

If the water already contains calcium ions or sulfate ions, the position of equilibrium moves to the left and the solubility decreases (Le Châtelier’s Principle).

TEMPERATURE

Increasing the temperature usually increases the solubility of an ionic compound because the solution process is usually endothermic.

CaSO₄(s) + heat ⇌ Ca²⁺(aq) + SO₄²⁻(aq)

Le Châtelier’s Principle predicts that increasing the temperature (adding heat) will shift the position of equilibrium to the right. The compound will become more soluble. From a webpage i found this from https://socratic.org/questions/what-factors-affect-solubility-of-ionic-compounds

QUESTION 24<br> Calculate [H 30+] of a solution with a pH of 2.14.
sleet_krkn [62]

Answer:

The hydronium ion concentration can be found from the pH by the reverse of the mathematical operation employed to find the pH. [H3O+] = 10-pH or [H3O+] = antilog (- pH).

When one substance changes into one or more new substances, it has exhibited a 1. chemical change. 2. chemical reaction. 3. phys
mars1129 [50]

The answer is 1. chemical change.

That is when one substance changes into one or more new substances, it has exhibited a chemical change.

A Chemical change is a change that takes places when a substance changes its composition by forming one or more new substances. As here also, one substance is changing into one or more new substance, thus it exhibits a chemical change.

Which statement best describes the formula equation cl1(g) + 2kbr(aq) —&gt; 2kcl(aq)+br2(i)
Zigmanuir [339]

Answer:

The chlorine gas and potassium bromide solution react to form liquid  bromine and potassium chloride solution.

Explanation:

Chemical equation:

Cl₂(g) + KBr (aq) → KCl (aq) + Br₂(l)

Balanced chemical equation:

Cl₂(g) + 2KBr (aq) → 2KCl (aq) + Br₂(l)

This equation showed that the chlorine gas and potassium bromide solution react to form liquid  bromine and potassium chloride solution.

Chlorine is more reactive than bromine it displace the bromine from potassium and form potassium chloride solution.

The given equation is balanced and completely hold the law of conservation of mass.

According to the law of conservation mass, mass can neither be created nor destroyed in a chemical equation.

Explanation:

This law was given by french chemist  Antoine Lavoisier in 1789. According to this law mass of reactant and mass of product must be equal, because masses are not created or destroyed in a chemical reaction.
