How can a woman give birth to a child and avoid transmitting herpes?
netineya [11]

Since herpes is spread from active skin infection and not from latent infection, a newborn baby can be infected with herpes only if they are born while the virus is active. Neonatal herpes generally occurs if the baby's skin becomes infected during the birth process.

Blood pressure is considered high of it stays at
kenny6666 [7]
That really depends on your doctor. Some people are high at 140  and others at 130 for the systolic. If you are young, I think 130 is pretty high. If you are older maybe 140 if the point where you should be paying attention.

For the diastolic 80 is good. 85 is take a note book when you go see a doctor and 90 it's time to be a worry wart.

These are just numbers. Throughout the day, the numbers can vary quite a bit so one bad reading does not make you a candidate for high blood pressure.

If you learn to relax before it is taken, it makes a 10 - 15 point difference on the systolic and don't let people bully you about it.

Leokris [45]

Answer:

The answer is: Critical period

Explanation:

Thalidomide is an immunomodulatory drug, which is prescribed as a tranquilizer or hypnotic for insomnia, anxiety and gastritis.

When administered by pregnant women during the first and the second trimester, this drug caused teratogenic deformities in the newborns.

The deformity caused depends majorly on how many days into the pregnancy the mother administered the drug. If the drug is taken up to day 28, it causes damage to the legs. This is because it is a critical period for the development of legs.

Critical period refers to the stage of development of the child. During this stage, the central nervous system is very sensitive to certain environmental stimuli.
