Dysarthria is a type of motor speech disorder that <u>affects the muscles</u> involved in producing speech, thus causing difficulties in pronunciation. This disorder is caused due to a traumaticneurological injury that affects the central or the peripheral nervous system.
Dysarthria can affect articulation, respiration, resonance, phonation and prosody.
