Answer:

She made a profit of $ 2 on each share of stock

Step-by-step explanation:

Elly buys 75 shares of stock in a mutual fund for a total investment of $450.

cost of 1 share of stock= $ 450/75

                                   =  $ 6

She sells 50 shares of her stock for total proceeds of $400.

selling price of 1 share of stock=$ 400/50

                                                 = $ 8

Hence, She made a profit of $ 2 on each share of stock ($8-$6=$2)

Benjamin started her walk from the front door of her ground floor apartment. She walked 6 meters to the corner of the building a
notsponge [240]

Answer:

4 meters.

Step-by-step explanation:

Benjamin has walked two legs of a right triangle, so you can connect her two movements with a line if you were sketching the situation.. The displacement is the objects overall change in position in relation to its origin, so in your case, Benjamin's apartment. While the total distance adds up regardless of her position.

So, the total distance Benjamin walked is 10m + 6m = 16m

Her displacement can be found by your best friends, the Pythagorean Theorem: 10m ^2 + 6m ^2 = delta x^2 (or displacement squared).. giving you a displacement of 11.66, or 12 m.

The difference between the distance she walked and her displacement is 4 meters.

I hope this helps. If you have any more questions, please feel free to post them and someone will be able to help you, whether it's myself or others. Please leave a like, rating, and if possible, Brainliest. Have a great day!

Write of a story (word problem) that represents a proportional relationship.
kiruha [24]

Answer:

A proportional relationship is written as:

y = k*x

where k is the constant of proportionality.

A general word problem that represents one of these relationships can be:

If each burger costs $1.50, what would be the cost of buying x burgers?

The cost of x burgers will be x times $1.50, so if we define y as the total price, we will have the relation:

y = $1.50*x

Which is a proportional relationship where the constant of proportionality is $1,50

The area of a rectangle is 9.312 x 104 cm2 and the width is 2.56 x 102 cm. What is the length? A) 3.6375 x 102 B) 3.6375 x 106 C
lawyer [7]
Area = length*width
length = Area/width
  = (9.312*10^4)/(2.56*10^2) = 3.6375*10^2 . . . cm

Selection A is appropriate.

_____
You already knew that before you even touched your calculator. 10^4/10^2 = 10^2, so only answers A and C should be considered. 9.3/2.6 < 4.5, so only answer A should be considered.

The beauty of scientific notation for numbers is it helps you estimate the result of multiplication and division easily. For many problems, you don't need the actual answer as much as you need the ballpark in which the answer resides.
