In a ranked society, one distinguishing characteristic of high-prestige positions, such as a chief, is that they are hereditary. The ranking of society is a feature of complex societies where distinct people have a distinct authority, rights, and duties.

Further explanation:

Hereditary rank is the status of the kids that is transmitted automatically by individuals placed in high hierarchy. While equality of access to resources can be achieved, societies rank is characterized by inequality of access to renowned prestige statuses. The chief is the greatest rank. So that only his genealogical heir could achieve the place of the chief.

The society has some criteria used in the determination of social class, such as:

• Occupation

Occupation is a very significant element of social rank. It is well known that certain types of occupation are more honorable than others, like the doctor, engineer, lawyers, and professor than a driver or labor.

• Wealth and income

Wealth and income are the primary distinguishing feature of the high-prestige positions from other classes in society. Generally, people who have more wealth and income have greater social status.

• Education

The social class and education are closely interrelated. You need cash plus incentive to get a greater education. High-class kids have cash for top schools and universities already. They are also familiar and socially encouraged. The quantity and type of training you receive impacts your class level. Education is, therefore, one of the primary levers of the social class of a man.
