y=6x+4 is linear but not proportional because it doesn't have any exponents causing it to be Linear ....it is not proportional because it is not in y=mx form
y=8x is linear and proportional because it is in y=mx form and doesn't have any exponents

Well it's similar because it uses the numbers to number the line and used as measurements and it's different because it has more precise measurements for whatever it is that u r doing
