It took a while for me to make sense of the diagram at first also, but once you look a little closer this is what it would look like if you took a right triangular prism and cut up all the edges so that it lay flat. In order to calculate the surface area, all we have to do is find the area of every polygon created by the edges.

Giant Rectangle: Across the diagram is a rectangle with a width of 8 cm and a length of 15 cm. It is composed of three other individual rectangles created by the edges. Instead of calculating the area for each individual rectangle and adding it up, we can just take the area of the whole rectangle.
area of rectangle = length x width = 15 x 8 = 120cm squared

Two Congruent Right Triangles: if you haven't noticed, the two triangles are actually congruent by SAS.
area of a triangle = 1/2 x height x base
= 1/2 x 5 x 4
= 2 x 5
= 10 cm squared
Don't forget to double this because there are TWO triangles.
Total Triangle Area = 20 cm squared

Total Area = 20 + 120 = 140 cm squared

A certain change in a process for manufacture of component parts is being considered. Samples are taken using both the existing
Katyanochek1 [597]

Answer:

a) The confidence interval is 0.00\leq\pi_1-\pi_2\leq0.02.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have to calculate a confidence interval (CI) of a difference of proportions.

For the existing procedure, the proportion is:

p_1=75/1500=0.05

For the new procedure, the proportion is:

p_2=80/2000=0.04

To calculate the CI, we need to estimate the standard deviation

s=\sqrt{\frac{p_1(1-p_1)}{n_1} +\frac{p_2(1-p_2)}{n_2} }\\\\s=\sqrt{\frac{0.05(1-0.05)}{1500} +\frac{0.04(1-0.04)}{2000} }=\sqrt{ 0.000032 + 0.000019 }=\sqrt{  0.000051 }\\\\s=0.007

For a 90% CI, the z-value is 1.64.

Then, the CI is:

(p_1-p_2)-z*\sigma \leq\pi_1-\pi_2\leq(p_1-p_2)+z*\sigma \\\\(0.05-0.04)-1.64*0.007\leq\pi_1-\pi_2\leq(0.05-0.04)+1.64*0.007\\\\0.01-0.01\leq\pi_1-\pi_2\leq0.01+0.01\\\\0.00\leq\pi_1-\pi_2\leq0.02

Answer:

3.

7.608

Step-by-step explanation:

An irrational number is any number which can't be written as a fraction this way. For example, pi and the square root of two cannot be expressed as a fraction of two whole numbers, so they are both irrational.

if we make the respective accounts in the first and second problem we will see that they are irrational numbers

the fourth is a periodic number, which falls within the irrational

the only rational is the third
