Secondary succession refers to the series of community variations that occurs on a previously colonized but damaged or disturbed habitat. The examples include the regions that have been cleared of prevailing vegetation, like after tree-felling in a woodland and destructive occurrences like fires.

A climax community is an ecological community in which populations of animals or plants remain stable and prevail in equilibrium with each other and their surroundings. A climax community refers to the ultimate phase of succession, remaining comparatively unchanged until destructed by an incident like human interference or fire.

Thus, the stable state of vegetation development in a region with time during secondary succession signifies climax community.

Explain how ostriches evolved to survive in their environment.
AnnyKZ [126]

Answer:

Some scientists believe that there were huge fires and the skies were dark and full of pollution due to a meteor exploding and killing off the dinosaurs, and if it's true that this occurred, the Ostrich evolved to be a land animal due to it being too dangerous in the air for them. The long neck may have developed to help them get food that was higher up which is the same speculation for the Giraffe. To stay on land they had to be stronger, bigger, and faster than they were in flight.

Of those listed which gas is the least abundant in earths atmosphere
Zolol [24]

Answer:

Option C = Ozone

Explanation:

The Percentage of given gases in atmosphere:

Oxygen = O₂ = 20.95 %

Nitrogen = N₂ = 78.08%

Argon = Ar = 0.93%

Ozone = O₃ = 0.000004%

Nitrogen is most abundant gas in atmosphere while oxygen is second most abundant gas. The nitrogen and oxygen are present in diatomic form such as O₂ and N₂.

Water vapors are also present but the percentage vary according to location. In hot humid areas the percentage of water is 0- 4% and it is third abundant gas.

The percentage of other gases in atmosphere are given below:

CO₂ = 0.0360%

Ne = 0.0018%

He = 0.0005%

CH₄ = 0.00017 %

N₂O = 0.0003%

H₂ = 0.00005%

SashulF [63]

The Linnaean system added more levels onto the hierarchy of complexity that Aristotle developed.

The linnaean system of classification of taxonomy was developed by swedish naturalist named Carolus Linneaus in the mid 1700. He developed a way to organise and name species. He based his classification on physical traits of organisms and uses binomial numenclature to identify organisms. The seven major level of classification are kingdom, phylum, class, order, family,genus and species.

What is Linnaean system of classification ?

Similarities in outward physical characteristics serve as the foundation for the Linnaean system. A hierarchy of taxa, from the kingdom to the species, makes up this system. Every species has its own distinctive two-word Latin name. The most recent taxon, the domain, is more extensive and encompassing than the kingdom.

 • Because it encouraged the use of binomial nomenclature to distinguish between each species, the Linnaean system is significant. Scientists could communicate without the use of deceptive common names once the approach had been accepted.
