Well, it could mean a lot of things. but i’m guessing that in this sense it probably means the same as tossing something. eg: “don’t throw that ball at you’re brother- toss it”
“don’t throw that ball at you’re brother - lob it”

The Washington Bridge is very beautiful to look at. Because of the cables and steel beams, the bridge gleams like a reversed arch with the sky as the background.
