Cost of each ticket per person = $42

For groups of up to 8 people, the cost per ticket decreases by $3 for each person in the group.

Marco's ticket cost $30.

This means he paid 42-30=12 dollars less.

Now when there are 8 members, the cost decreases by $3.

So, $12 will decrease, when there will be 8\times4=32 members

X is the amount of groups
y is the amount of people

42- 3x = 30

x (8) = y

42 - 3x = 30
-42 -42
-3x = -12
divide by -3
x = 4, there were 4 groups of 8, substitute the 4 into the other equation

4×8 = 32
y = 32 , There are 32 people in Marcos group

sorry, it's the best I could do.
