why did the framers create electoral college to elect the president of the United States , this system influences the campaign strategies of presidential candidates . Need help :(

One reason was that at the time the communication between the states took more time and the states needed "representatives" to vote; since people couldn't reasonably vote in person.

Another reason was that they believed that the people can be manipulated, and the Electors would be more educated, so less prone to manipulation.
