To find out how much a percentage adds to an amount we put a 1 in front of the percentage and multiply by the starting amount.
The normal written percentage would be .4 for 40% but we will say 1.4 in order to add 40% to our starting total.

1.4*$8 =$11.20 per hour for Priya.

Now we need to find out what 5% less than 11.20 is.  To find a % less than our starting total we just multiply by the percentage WITHOUT the 1 in front

$11.20*.05= $.56

Then we take our total (which is %5 of the salary) and subtract it from the starting salary

11.20 - .56= $10.64

Siobhan makes $10.64

Hope this helps

What subsets of numbers does 8 2/3 belong to?
Ne4ueva [31]
By simplifying the number given which is 8 2/3, we get an improper fraction of 26/3. Also, when we try to divide 26 by 3, we get an answer of 8.6667, with 6 as a repeating number after the decimal place. Therefore, this number is an example of real and rational number. Thus the answer is the second choice.

Mai runs around a 400 meter track at a constant speed of 250 meters per minute. How many minutes does it take Mai to complete 4
goldfiish [28.3K]

Answer:

6.4 minutes, or 6 minutes and 24 seconds

Step-by-step explanation:

She is running 4 laps, so she is running 1600 meters total.  If she runs 250 meters per minute, divide 1600 by 250 to determine how many minutes it will take...

1600/250  =  6.4

Which is 6 minutes + 0.4 minutes

*there are 60 seconds in a minute, so the 0.4 represents 40% of another minute.  Multiply 60 by 0.4 to see how many seconds this is...

(0.4)60  = 24 seconds,

So she ran the laps in 6 minutes and 24 seconds

Finding Derivatives Implicity In Exercise,Find dy/dx implicity.<br> x2e - x + 2y2 - xy = 0
Klio2033 [76]

Answer:

the question is incomplete, the complete question is

"Finding Derivatives Implicity In Exercise,Find dy/dx implicity . x^{2}e^{-x}+2y^{2}-xy"

Answer : \frac{dy}{dx}=\frac{y-(2-x)xe^{-x}}{(4y-x)}

Step-by-step explanation:

From the expression  x^{2}e^{-x}+2y^{2}-xy" y is define as an implicit function of x, hence we differentiate each term of the equation with respect to x.

we arrive at

\frac{d}{dx}(x^{2}e^{-x )+\frac{d}{dx} (2y^{2})-\frac{d}{dx}xy=0\\

for the expression \frac{d}{dx}(x^{2}e^{-x}) we differentiate using the product rule, also since y^2 is a function of y which itself is a function of x, we have

(2xe^{-x}-x^{2}e^{-x})+4y\frac{dy}{dx}-x\frac{dy}{dx} -y=0\\\\(2-x)xe^{-x}+(4y-x)\frac{dy}{dx}-y=0 \\.

if we make dy/dx  subject of formula we arrive at

(4y-x)\frac{dy}{dx}=y-(2-x)xe^{-x}\\\frac{dy}{dx}=\frac{y-(2-x)xe^{-x}}{(4y-x)}
