Answer:

48

Step-by-step explanation:

60 cents = 125 g

12 cents = 25 g ( Divide by 5)

(12 cents = 25 g )  x 4 { To get 100 g}

48 cents = 100 g

➷ Work out the cost per gram

60/125 = 0.48

It costs 0.48 cents per gram

Multiply this by 100 to get the answer:

0.48 x 100 = 48

It would cost 48 cents

a pyramid whose altitude is 5ft weighs 800lbs. at what distance from its vertex must it be cut by a plane parallel to its base s
slavikrds [6]

A structure which has a square base and four triangular sides meeting at a point is called pyramid.

At distance of 3.97 feet from its vertex , pyramid is cut by plane  so that the two solids of equal weight will be formed.

<u>It is assumed that weight of pyramid is proportional to its volume.</u>

So,   w = k V , where V is volume of original pyramid and v is volume of small pyramid and k is constant.

Let us consider that at h  distance,  pyramid is cut from its vertex. So a small pyramid is also formed.

Assume that base area of original pyramid is A and base of small pyramid is a.

Volume of original pyramid is,   V= \frac{1}{3}  *A* 5

So, weight of original pyramid,  W = k *(\frac{1}{3}  *A* 5) = 800

Volume of small pyramid is,  v = \frac{1}{3}* a* h

So, weight of small pyramid, w = k*(\frac{1}{3}* a* h)=400

<u>Since, base and height of small pyramid and original pyramid are in proportion.</u>

So,  \frac{a}{A}  = (\frac{h}{5}) ^{2}

       a = (\frac{h}{5} )^{2}A

Substituting value of a in  equation k*(\frac{1}{3}* a* h)=400

So, k*(\frac{1}{3}* \frac{h^{2} }{25}A * h)=400

       (k*\frac{1}{3}* A*5)*\frac{1}{5} *\frac{h^{2} }{25} * h)=400

Since, (k *\frac{1}{3}  *A* 5) = 800, substitute in above equation.

    So, 800*\frac{h^{3} }{125}=400\\\\h^{3}=\frac{125}{2}\\\\h=\sqrt[\frac{1}{3} ]{62.5}\\\\h=3.97 feet

In a group of eighteen people, each person shakes hands once with each other person in the group. How many handshakes will occur
miv72 [106K]

The number of handshakes that will occur in a group of eighteen people if each person shakes hands once with each other person in the group is 153 handshakes

In order to determine the number of handshakes that will occur among 18 people, that is, the number of ways we can choose 2 persons from 18 people.

∴ The number of handshakes = ^{18}C_{2}

^{18}C_{2} = \frac{18!}{(18-2)!2!}

^{18}C_{2} = \frac{18!}{16!2!}

^{18}C_{2} = \frac{18\times17\times16!}{16!\times2!}

^{18}C_{2} = \frac{18\times17}{2\times1}

^{18}C_{2} = \frac{306}{2}

^{18}C_{2} = 153

∴ The number of handshakes = 153 handshakes

Hence. 153 handshakes will occur in a group of eighteen people if each person shakes hands once with each other person in the group.

Answer:

The answer to the nearest tenth is 8.2

Step-by-step explanation:

In order to find the distance between any two points, you must use the distance formula. when you plug in the points into the formula you end up with 8.246, rounded to the nearest tenth would be 8.2. I hope this helps!
