What does the irony in these excerpts from "In Another Country" by ernest Hemingway convey
that the war is ruthless and took away the things most important to identify and happiness of both men. it also clearly shows that the soliders had completely lost their identities and expectations
hope it helps
Answer:
I found it...
Explanation:
JFK only wanted the U.S. and all other countries at peace. He was up for a challenge, but in his speech he just wanted "peaceful solutions" for all problems. It didn't matter if it was about global warming, global hunger, or global economic struggles. It didn't even matter if it was the entire world or just a few counties, or maybe the United States. He wanted peace. His point in his inauguration was to remind the U.S their strength and keep everything happening in an order it should be in.
Hope this helps a little, at least. :)
Dramatic irony is your answer. there are three types, situational, dramatic, adn verbal.
I can’t exactly answer this since I do not have the text. However, figurative language is saying something that is not literal. Most common type of figurative language is metaphors or similes.
simile ex: “She’s as happy as a clam.”
similes always have the words “like” or “as” in them
metaphor ex: “This room is an ice cube!”
hence the not so literal meaning
