< or > is the same as saying =. So, keep in mind, whatever you do to one side, you do to the other. Step 1 is to isolate X. To do so, minus 5 from both sides. 5-5=0, so the equation becomes: 3x <0.75x-5 . Then you subtract 0.75 from both sides. This now looks like this: 2.25x <-5 . Now, divide both sides by 2.25. X=(-5/2.25).

Basically you can do anything as long as you do it to both sides except divide by zero

3x+5<0.75x
I don't like decimals so multiply the whole thing by 4
12x+20<3x
subtract 3x from both sides
9x+20<0
subtract 20 from both sides
9x<-20
divide both sides by 9
x<-20/9

The value of y varies directly with x If x equals 3 than y equals 21 what is the value of c when the value of y equals 105
mihalych1998 [28]

If y and x varies directly we can use a rule of 3 to find the missing x so:

\begin{gathered} 3\to21 \\ x\to105 \end{gathered}

and the equation will be:

\begin{gathered} x=\frac{3\cdot105}{21} \\ x=15 \end{gathered}

How do u do 2x-y=17<br> X-y=10
aliina [53]
Another way to do it is
2x-y=17
x-y=10, x=10+y
substitute x=10+y for x in 2x-y=17 and get
2(10+y)-y=17
20+2y-y=17
20+y=17
subtract 20 from both sides
y=-3
subsitute y=-3 into equation x-y=10
x-(-3)=10
x+3=10
subtract 3 from both sides
x=7
 or subsitute into 2x-y=17
2x-(-3)=17
2x+3=17
subtract 3 from both sides
2x=14
divide both sides by two
x=7

PLEASE HELP !! :c
konstantin123 [22]

Step-by-step explanation:

the perimeter =

4+4+6+4.5+2+4+4+2 =

30.5 cm

the area of:

• the bigger rectangle = 6×4 = 24 cm²

• the smaller triangle = 4×2 = 8cm²

• the triangle = ½×2×4 = 4cm²

the total area = 24+8+4 = 36cm²
