Let x = the total cost of gas, dollars.

Originally, each of the three friends was to pay x/3 dollars each.
Finally, with two more friends added, the cost became x/5 dollars each.

The savings for each of the original three friends is $11, therefore
x/3 - x/5 = 11
(2x)/15 = 11
x = (11*15)/2 = $82.50

Answer: The total cost of gas is $82.50

The GDP of the country for 2014 is $5.3196 × 10⁸.

What is multiplication?

Multiplication is the process of multiplying, therefore, adding a number to itself for the number of times stated. For example, 3 × 4 means 3 is added to itself 4 times, and vice versa for the other number.

Given the Gross Domestic of a country in the first quarter of 2014 was $1.3299×10⁸. Therefore, the GDP of the country for that year will be,

GDP = 4 × (Gross Domestic for a single quarter)

         = 4 × ($1.3299×10⁸)

         = $5.3196 × 10⁸

Hence, the GDP of the country for 2014 is $5.3196 × 10⁸.

How do I find the missing value
liberstina [14]
Okay. Since the "y" value and 82* are on the same straight line, their values will always add up to make a sum of 180. So if you subtract 82 from 180 you get 98*. So your "y" value is equal to 98*.

Now, all of the degree values added together should give you a sum of 360, so now we must add the values we know, in order to find the "x" value. So, 112*+82*+98*=292. Now we know that the difference of 360 and 292 will give us the x value. So finally, 360-292=68. So your "x" value is equal to 68.

y=98
x=68
