Well, factors of 10 are:
1 and 10
and
2 and 5

Those don't add up to three. However, if it was -10, then 5 and -2 would add up to three.

There are no real numbers that can do that job.

The numbers are

       <em> 1.5 + i √7.75</em>
and
       <em>1.5 - i √7.75</em>

These are called 'complex numbers'.  The symbol ' i ' stands for √-1  .

==================================================

If either the ' 3 ' or the ' 10 ' was actually supposed to be negative,
then the two numbers would be<em>  2 </em> and<em>  -5 .</em>

collin invests £11180 into his bank account. he receives 4.3% per year simple interest. how much will collin have after 3 years?
borishaifa [10]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

To calculate simple interest use the following formula

Presentvalue(1+it)

where i=interest

t=time

We can easily plug in our values and solve for the answer

11180(1+0.043*3)

Put this into a calculator and get £12622.22

The equatorial radius of Earth is approximately 6 × 103 km, while the equatorial radius of Saturn is approximately 6 × 104 km. W
Citrus2011 [14]
If by 104 and 103 you meant 10^4 and 10^3 the difference would be 10 because you subtract them as exponents and get 10^1 which is just 10. If you meant 104 and 103 as they are then the difference would be 6 as 104 x 6 is 6 more than 103 x 6.

Write the quadratic equation whose roots are 5 and -3, and whose leading coefficient is 1
kogti [31]
1. A quadratic equation has the following form: ax²+bx+c.

 2. The leading coefficient is the number that is attached to the variable with the highest exponent. Then, the "a" is the leading coefficient of the quadratic equation.

 3. The problem says that the leading coefficient is 1 (a=1) and the roots of the quadratic equation are 5 and -3. Then, you have:

 (x-5)(x+3)=0

 4. When you apply the distributive property, you obtain:

 x²+3x-5x-15=0
 x²-2x-15=0

 5. Therefore, the answer is:

 x²-2x-15=0
