A + c = 148 -> c = 148 - a
12a + 9c = 1410

12a + 9(148 - a) = 1410
12a + 1332 - 9a = 1410
3a = 78
a = 26

26 + c = 148
c = 122

We'll call the number of adults (x). Since there are 148 people total, the number of children will be 148 minus the number of adults, or (148 - x).

<span>12 pounds for each adult = 12x </span>
<span>9 pounds for each child = 9 (148-x) = (1332 - 9x) </span>

<span>The total pounds for adults plus children is 1,410, so the equation would be: </span>

<span>12x + (1332 - 9x) = 1410 </span>

<span>Combine like terms: </span>

<span>3x + 1332 = 1410 </span>

<span>Get x term alone by subtracting 1332 from both sides: </span>

<span>3x = 78 </span>

<span>Solve for x by dividing both sides by 3 </span>

<span>x = 26 = number of adults </span>

What is the solution set of (x^2+x-6/x-7)&lt;_0
Vlada [557]
X^2 + x - 6
-------------   <=  0
  x - 7

(x + 3)(x - 2)
---------------- <= 0
    x - 7

2 critical values are  x = -3 and x = 2

if x <= -3  the  the function <= 0  so that's one part of the solution
also x >= 2
x must be < 7  if its = 7 then the function is indeterminate.  and values between 2 and 7 will give negative valu to function

The answer is  choice A.

Which point is on the graph of f(x) = 2*5^x
vodomira [7]

Answer:

Option B (1,10)

Step-by-step explanation:

we have

f(x)=2(5^x)

we know that

If a ordered pair is on the graph of f(x) then the ordered pair must satisfy the function f(x)

<u><em>Verify each case</em></u>

case A) (0,0)

For x=0

f(x)=2(5^0)\\f(x)=2(1)=2

Compare the value of f(x) with the y-coordinate of the ordered pair

2\neq 0

therefore

The ordered pair is not on the graph of f(x)

case B) (1,10)

For x=1

f(x)=2(5^1)\\f(x)=2(5)=10

Compare the value of f(x) with the y-coordinate of the ordered pair

10=10

therefore

The ordered pair is on the graph of f(x)

case C) (0,10)

For x=0

f(x)=2(5^0)\\f(x)=2(1)=2

Compare the value of f(x) with the y-coordinate of the ordered pair

2\neq 10

therefore

The ordered pair is not on the graph of f(x)

case D) (10,1)

For x=10

f(x)=2(5^{10})\\f(x)=2(9,765,625)=19,531,250

Compare the value of f(x) with the y-coordinate of the ordered pair

19,531,250\neq 1

therefore

The ordered pair is not on the graph of f(x)
