Whenever you have straight lines on a graph they mean that that they only have either an x value or a y value. Normally you would have both, right?
so,
1. what is k doing? Its a horizontal line so it will be all y values at the point where it crosses the y axis. Here it looks like it crosses at the 8 mark so the value of this is y=8
2, line 1 crosses the x axis so it is all x values. here it crosses at 1 so its equation is x=1 the line parallel to it crosses x at 7 so its equation is x=7
The last line to describe crosses y at 2 so its equation is y=2.
3. The area is easy just count all the squares inside the figure. Or the formula is length times width.

At a bake sale, as student spent $11.00 buying 3 brownies and 5 cookies. His friend spent $3.95 buying 1 brownie and 2 cookies.
dybincka [34]

Answer:

$2.25

Step-by-step explanation:

Let "b" be the price of 1 brownie and "c" the price of 1 cookie.

At a bake sale, a student spent $11.00 buying 3 brownies and 5 cookies. Symbolicaly,

3 b + 5 c = 11.00   [1]

His friend spent $3.95 buying 1 brownie and 2 cookies. Symbolicaly,

1 b + 2 c = 3.95

b = 3.95 - 2c   [2]

If we replace [2] in [1], we get

3 (3.95 - 2c) + 5 c = 11.00

11.85 - 6c + 5c = 11.00

c = 0.85

If we replace c = 0.85 in [2], we get

b = 3.95 - 2 (0.85) = 2.25

Next number of the given sequence

The two missing numbers in the given sequence is calculated as follows;

= ?    49     63    ?

The given sequence is factor 7 which increases by 2

= 7 x 5      7 x 7       7 x 9     7 x 11

= 35         49          63          77
