4 quarts = 1 gallon.

and every bottle is 1 quart so 4 bottles equals 1 gallon.

with the 4 gallons she has just do 4 times 4 equals 16 so 16 bottles of water for 4 gallons.

now with the .5 gallons left thats half the bottles also so 2 bottles of water.

16+2=18

she can fill 18 bottles of water!!!!!!<span />

lesya692 [45]

Answer:

The smallest possible value for x is 9\ units

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The <u>Triangle Inequality Theorem</u>. states that the sum of the lengths of any two sides of a triangle is greater than the length of the third side

so

x+x>17\\2x>17\\x>8.5\ units

The value of x must be greater than  8.5\ units

so

If x must be a whole number

therefore

The smallest possible value for x is 9\ units
