The central dogma of the molecular biology explains how information from DNA is translated into proteins.
There are three distinct parts of this process.
Firstly, in the nucleus the DNA copies itself with help of different proteins in the process called replication.
In the second part, the information on the DNA is passed down to messenger RNA (mRNA) in the process called transcription. In this process, with the help of proteins, the sequence of DNA is divided into triplets and transcribed into a single mRNA strand.
When the mRNA is formed it leaves the nucleus and goes to the ribosome, where the translation, which is the third part of the central dogma happens.
In this process, the triplet code on the mRNA is translated into a sequence of amino acids with the help of the transport RNA (tRNA). Each triplet on mRNA compliments a triplet on the tRNA which transports one amino acid. When the whole sequence on the mRNA is translated into a sequence of amino acids the primary structure of a protein is formed.

irinina [24]

This mechanism allows killer T-cells to hunt down and destroy cells that are infected with germs or that have become cancerous.

The other main type of T-cells are called helper T-cells.

Helper T-cells orchestrate an immune response and play important roles in all arms of immunity.

. Imagine that you are a doctor in a maternity ward. During your last shift, 20 babies were born. 10 had blue eyes, and 10 had b
icang [17]

The potential genotypes for newborns with brown eyes are BB and Bb, whereas the potential genotype for newborns with blue eyes is bb.

 • According to the information provided above, b = allele for blue eyes is recessive while B = allele for brown eyes is dominant.
 • A recessive allele is one that cannot express itself in the presence of a dominant allele, while a dominant allele conceals the effect of a recessive allele.
 • A dominant allele expresses itself in the presence of a recessive allele.
 • While a dominant allele can express itself in both a homozygous and heterozygous state, a recessive allele can only do so.
 • Therefore, newborns with brown eyes will have two genotype options: BB and Bb, whereas those with blue eyes will only have one.
