The protestant reformation began as a criticism of the Catholic Church's decadence and views of purgatory as well as many details in scripture. As people began to gain more interest in objects from Biblical history, explorations would become opportunities to discover lost artifacts, points to convert nonbelievers and to feed the thirst for knowledge.
Manifest Destiny is the belief that Americans had the right, or even the duty, to expand westward across the North American continent from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean. This would spread the glorious institutions of civilization and democracy to the barbaric Native Americans.
Mostly because the Roman empire was a hugely vast empire in time where the internet or any other form of fast communication possibilities didn't exist yet. For this reason, it would be highly unpractical for Rome to rely on having direct democracy and each person giving his vote on every aspect of life.

- The Ottoman Empire is to the southeast of Bulgaria and Romania.
- The German Empire is below Sweden and Denmark.
- The Russian Empire is to the right of Sweden.
