Answer: B) The opposing powers in a proxy war use others to fight on their behalf.

A proxy war is one in which the opposing parties that are fighting are in fact acting on the instigation or on behalf of other parties that are not directly involved in the hostilities. This usually takes the form of funding, military training, arms of other types of material assistance. Proxy wars were common during the Cold War, as they were seen as a safer alternative to direct conflict between the Soviet Union and the United States. It is not always easy to establish which wars can be considered proxy wars, but some common examples include the Angolan Civil War, the Nicaraguan Revolution and the Vietnam War.

In other words, successive approximations to the desired behavior is rewarded. Here, a subject is not waited upon to exhibit a desired behavior, but is rewarded when it exhibits any behavior leading to the desired behavior.

Why elections should be held in a democracy ?
Alina [70]

Answer:

The nature of democracy is that elected officials are accountable to the people, and they must return to the voters at prescribed intervals to seek their mandate to continue in office. For that reason most democratic constitutions provide that elections are held at fixed regular intervals.
