Put all of the number in order and find the median, which would be 51 and 59 so you'd find the mean of those two numbers, which is 55. After this you would find the median of the smallest number and 55. The smallest number is 40. 40:55, 41:54, 42:53, 43:52, 44:51, 45:50, 46:49, 47:48. 47:48 is the lowest you could get and you would need to find the mean of 47 and 48, once you get 47.5, that is the answer to your question.
