After the US Supreme Court decision of calling that all laws that segregated schools were unconstitutional, the high school decided to make a plan to integrate African American students. Governor of Arkansas Orval Faubus decided then to deploy the Arkansas National Guard, and he justified his action by saying that if he didn’t call the national guard people would get hurt.
