Maturational crisis is a type of crisis that arises as a result of one’s inability to cope with stress that comes during the transitional period in one’s life cycle or stage. It deals with the crisis associated with developmental stages of an individual, characterized by failure in adopting necessary positive coping mechanisms in dealing and recovering from such stress. As a result of such failure, the individual adopts negative coping strategies such as night drinking.
