Answer:  Xiao can use these structures to create a similarity matrix that enables to differentiate between synapomorphies and homoplasies .

Explanation: A synapomorphy is a trait that has been inherited from the same ancestor, this trait enables to establish a relation of homology between two or more species; while a homoplasy is an analog structure that doesn't have homology.

There are certain limitations associated with the Punnett Squares. They are not useful in case of complex genetic inheritance such as linkage between two genes. For example in case of  Nail-patella Syndrome and gene associated with blood group two genes lie on the same chromosome in close vicinity and hence there are high chances of inheritance of these traits in the offspring from the parent thereby causing  random distribution of the two traits. This random distribution cannot be captured through punnet square.  

The same problem is associated in case where a single gene is determined by multiple genes with graded effects of each gene.

The two biggest reasons for children spending less time outside are the development of technology and the safety issues. The development of technology brought in our homes countless forms of having fun which is very important to children. The mobile phones, PC's, laptop's, tablets, Sony Play Station, as well as lots of technologically improved toys, made the children stay at home since they have the fun indoors, and not be interested in going outside and in nature. Also the safety issues in lots of parts in the world made the parents to restrict the children to the indoors environment.
