The answer would be D, but the correct way of phrasing this is ketoacidosis.

Ketoacidosis is a condition or complication of predominantly diabetes type 1 but can also occur with type 2. It is a serious condition that occurs when the body is  produces high levels of  blood acids called ketones.

When the body cannot produce enough insulin, glucose is unable to enter into the body cells. Insulin helps glucose enter into cells. The body then begins to break down fats  as fuel. This process causes a build up of acids  in the blood stream called ketones and they cause a chemical imbalance making the blood to become acidic.

This condition is usually called diabetic ketoacidosis.
