Take this example (cause it's easy to explain)

10+5x=15x

To solve it we have to minus five on both side. We have to do this because we need to isolate the variable (in this case x) on the one side so we can divide and solve.

You would -5x (inverse from positive 5) from both sides on this because whatever you do to one side you have to do to the others to make it equal. In this case the answer would be x=1 (again cause it's easy lol.)

I hope this helps you!

A basketball team posts player foul shot ratios: Jon made 18 of 19 Jim got 5/8 in and Joe wrote .94 Who was the better shooter
Leto [7]

Answer:

Jon was the better shooter.

Step-by-step explanation:

Converting the fractions to decimal form will enable us to compare the ratios:

18/19 = 0.9474

5/8 =  0.625

and we have 0.94

So the better shooter was the first  one  (0.9474) which is Jon.

Naily [24]

Answer:

b. To increase the accuracy of the research and prevent skewness in the idea.

Step-by-step explanation:

Random assignment ensures that any difference between groups recorded at the end of an experiment can be attributed to the experimental procedures. It refers to how you arrange the participants into required groups (different treatment and control groups). In the case of non-random assignment, the two major problems are generalisation of results and bias, which could lead to skewness in the idea of the experiment.

One of the importance of random assignment in this given experiment is to increase the accuracy of the research and prevent skewness in the idea.
