When scientists have made many observations and collected existing data, they suggest a possible explanation for what they have

seen and recorded. this explanation, called a hypothesis, is a statement that both explains their observations and data and can be tested. hypothesizing is a very important step in scientific investigations. a statement is testable if evidence can be collected that either supports or disproves it. a hypothesis may be shown to be wrong, but it can never be proved true beyond all doubt. it can only be supported by evidence. at any time, new data might indicate that a previously accepted hypothesis does not hold true in all instances. scientists often must refine and revise their original hypotheses—or even discard them—as they uncover new evidence. to test a hypothesis, scientists make a prediction that logically follows from the hypothesis. a prediction is a statement made in advance that states the results that will be obtained from testing a hypothesis, if the hypothesis is true. a prediction most often takes the form of an “if-then” statement. a hypothesis is often tested by carrying out an experiment. experimenting is the process of testing a hypothesis and its predictions by gathering data under controlled conditions.

Answer:

Hypothesis, controlled conditions, "if then" statement, scientific investigation, observation.

Explanation:

Hypothesis: An idea proposed for an argument to be tested if it's true.

Controlled Conditions: An experiment that doesn't manipulate the independent variable.

If then statements: These sentences present situations and their outcomes.

Scientific Investigation: A plan for asking questions and testing possible answers.

Observation: Using one of the senses (hearing, seeing, tasting, smell, touching) or measurements to gather data.

What amino acids do trypsin and chymotrypsin cut at?
Vikentia [17]

Answer:

Trypsin cuts at lysine and arginine amino acid residues at the carboxyl end. Chymotrypsin cuts at tryosine , phenylalanine, and tryptophan amino acid residues at the carboxyl end.

Explanation:

Trypsin and chymotrypsin are known as proteolytic enzymes which are actively involved in the digestive system. They are both secreted by the pancreas and are majorly involved in the breakdown of protein in the small intestine.

Trypsin cuts at lysine and arginine amino acid residues at the carboxyl end. Chymotrypsin cuts at tryosine , phenylalanine, and tryptophan amino acid residues at the carboxyl end.

Mutations in DNA include deletions and insertions. These types of mutations:
pantera1 [17]

Answer:

(A). Result in different amino acids to be read due to frame shifts

Explanation:

Insertion or deletion mutations (or Indel mutations) can be defined as mutations in DNA due to insertion (addition) or deletion of nucleotide bases in DNA.

These mutations lead to change in reading frames (sequence of codons), which leads to formation of protein having completely different amino acid sequence. Hence, these mutations are also cause frameshift mutations.

This is due due to triplet nature of genetic codes as insertion or deletion of one or more bases (but not three) would change change in codon sequence and mutated sequence can form a non-functional or truncated protein.

Thus, the correct answer is option (A).

What problems would you expect to observe in an ecosystem without producers? Be sure to answer this question in paragraph form u
Cloud [144]

The producers are the main source of the food production in the ecosystem. The producers are the organism, which convert the energy from the sunlight into the chemical energy. The consumers use this chemical energy for carrying out the metabolic processes in their body.

Without producers, the consumers cannot obtain their energy. Hence, the ecosystem without any producer would not survive.
