In this discussion, you will need to read the problem and determine if there was an error in the math. If there is an error, you

will need to explain what was incorrect and show what the correct math is. If there is no error in the math, then you will simply state that there is no error and explain why.
Cathy is purchasing a DVD player and a TV at the local electronic store. The DVD player costs $49.36, and the TV costs $705.20. Cathy wants to pay for them in 12 equal payments. She says that her monthly cost is $73.88. Is Cathy correct? If not, what is her error?

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that the cost of DVD is $49.36

and the cost of TV is $705.20

the total cost of the two appliances is $754.56

if Cathy wishes to pay for 12 equal months then the monthly pay would be

754.56/12= $62.88

Based on the information given by the question  $73.88 is not her monthly pay, seeing that she is not paying any added amount to the cost of the apliances at a percentage

Error can be calculated as = (approximate-exact)/exact*100

= (73.88-62.88)/62.88*100

=11/62.88*100

=0.1749*100

Error =17.49%

Please answer I am begging !!!
dlinn [17]

Answer:

z=8,154

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the answer for this is you take 21,137 and subtract 12,983 from it.

21,137-12,983=8,154

12,983 + z = 21,137

12,983 + 8,154 = 21,137

What is the largest integer n such that (n^2-38) / (n +1) is an integer?
Phantasy [73]

Answer:

a. 36

Step-by-step explanation:

for (n^2-38)/(n+1) to be an integer, n+1 must completely divide, n^2-38.

we check with the options

option a n=36 sutisfies the above condition.

(36^2-38)/36+1 = 1258/37= 34 , which is an integer. Therefore, largest integer would be 36

A 6.50% coupon bond with 18 years left to maturity is offered for sale at $1,035.25. What yield to maturity [interest rate] is t
Basile [38]

Answer:

The yield to maturity is 6.3974%

Step-by-step explanation:

The computation of the yield to maturity is as follows

Given that

NPER = 18 × 2 = 36

PMT = $1,035.25 × 6.50% ÷ 2 = $33.65

PV = $1,035.25

FV = $1,000

The formula is shown below:

=RATE(NPER;PMT;-PV;FV;TYPE)

The present value comes in negative

AFter applying the above formula, the yield to maturity is

= 3.1987% × 2

= 6.3974%

Hence, the yield to maturity is 6.3974%

Can you guy's please help me out I was absent and now I don't have a clue!
Elena-2011 [213]
For these problems you have to use PEMDAS so for problem 15 you would do the parentheses first, (21-3) you get 18 and then exponents, 3^2, you get 9, no multiplication but there is division so take your answers, 18 and 9 and divide them, you get 2, so the answer to 15 is 2.

A worker carries jugs of liquid soap from a production line to a packing area, carrying 4 jugs per trip. If the jugs are packed
Allisa [31]

Answer:

B. 2

Step-by-step explanation:

We have been given that a worker carries jugs of liquid soap from a production line to a packing area, carrying 4 jugs per trip.

Since worker has made 17 trips, so total number of hugs of liquid soap would be 17 times number of jugs carried per trip.

17\times 4=68.

Since each carton holds 7 jugs, so number of cartoons would be \frac{68}{7}.

\frac{68}{7}\Rightarrow \frac{63+5}{7}=9\frac{5}{7}

We can see that there are 9 completely filled cartoons and there are 5 jugs remaining, so we need 7-5=2 jugs.

Therefore, we need 2 jugs to fill the 10th cartoon and option B is the correct choice.
