Answer:

Yes

May not be zero

Explanation:

a) When a acceleration of a system = 0

F = m*a = 0

Hence,

All resultant external forces are zero

b) A system may consists of multiple masses or objects interacting with one another. Hence, those internal are non zero for the system to remain intact

E.g two boxes riding on one another moving at a constant speed.

Hence, a single object system has zero internal forces; however, a multiple objects system will have non zero internal forces

It is not possible for an object to have no external/internal forces acting on it. To have an acceleration of 0, the forces acting on the object balance out, leading to the object remaining static.

Hope I helped :)

Compare and contrast the energy transfer of a roller coaster to that of a pendulum
Softa [21]

When the pendulum and roller coaster move to the top, its has more potential energy whereas when comes to the bottom has more kinetic energy.

Compare and contrast the energy transfer of a roller coaster to that of a pendulum:

What is the transfer of energy in a roller coaster?

The transfer of potential energy to kinetic energy occur when the roller coaster move along the track. As the motor pulls the cars to the top, the body has more potential energy whereas when the body comes to the bottom , it has kinetic energy in the object.

What is the energy transfer in a pendulum?

As a pendulum swings, its potential energy changes to kinetic energy and kinetic energy changes into potential energy. At the top more potential energy is present.

So we can conclude that When the pendulum and roller coaster move to the top, its has more potential energy whereas when comes to the bottom has more kinetic energy.

Which would you expect to freeze faster pure water or salt solution why?
krek1111 [17]
Pure water.

A salt solution contains impurities whereas pure water will not contain any impurities.

Impurities increase the boiling point (freezing point) of a substance.

Thus, I would expect the pure water solution to freeze faster than the salt solution.

The shifting of the observed wavelength of light due to the motion of the source toward or away from the observer is called the
alexdok [17]

Answer:

doppler effect

Explanation:

When the relative motion of two bodies results in the wavelength becoming shorter this means that the bodies are getting closer. This is known as blue shift.

When the relative motion of two bodies results in the wavelength becoming longer this means that the bodies are getting farther. This is known as red shift.

Collectively this phenomenon is known as the Doppler effect.

Two identical objects, A and B, are sitting on a table. If the net force on object A is 5 N and the net force on object B is 10
sveta [45]

If the net force on object A is 5 N and the net force on object B is 10 N, then object B will accelerate more quickly than object A provided the mass of both objects are same.

Answer: Option C

Explanation:

According to Newton’s second law of motion, any external force applied on an object is directly proportional to the mass and acceleration of the object. In order to state this law in terms of acceleration, it is stated that acceleration exhibited by any object is directly proportional to the net force applied on the object and inversely proportional to the mass of the object as shown below:

                      \text {Acceleration of the object } \propto \frac{\text {Net force on the object}}{\text {Mass of the object}}

So if two objects A and B are identical which means they have same mass, then the acceleration attained by the object will be directly proportionate to the net forces exerted on the objects only.

Thus if the force applied is more for one object, then the object will be exhibiting more acceleration compared to the other one. So as object B is experiencing a net force of 10 N which is greater than the net force experiences by object A, then the object B will be accelerating more quickly compared to the object A's acceleration.

if two substances have similar physical properties such as color and texture but different in other physical properties such as
blagie [28]
Since they are made of different chemical make ups, boiling point and density they will most likely be in different groups on the periodic table.
