You will have to do 617.3 ÷ 41 = 15.056

Well if his car goes 617.3 miles, and he goes 41 miles per gallon

what the gallons will be

divide 617.3 by 41
=15.056

so his car used ~ 15.06 gallons of gas (i rounded the answer, if you want, you can put the full thing)

I hope this helps

What is 16+x=12 and -3x=15
horrorfan [7]
-4 and -5
because to get 16 to 12 you have to subtract 4 but it wants you to add so you put a negative sign infront of it.

and a negative multiply by a negative equals a positive so -3×-5=15

The length of 2 sides of a triangle are 12 inches and 4 inches. Which is the third side?
Westkost [7]

Answer:

Let x = the third side

In a triangle, the sum of any 2 sides must be larger than the third side.

I believe this is called the triangle inequality theorem.

We can construct 3 inequalities to obtain the range of values for the third side.

  (Inequality #1)   12 + 4 > x

                                  16 > x

  (Inequality#2)    12 + x > 4

x > -8   (we can discard this ... we know all sides will be positive)

  (Inequality #3)   4 + x > 12

                                   x > 8

So when we combine these together,

   8 < x < 16

X (the third side) must be a number between 8 and 16. but not including 8 and 16
