Mario painted 2/6 of the wall in his bedroom. Mei Lyn painted 2/4 of a wall in her bedroom.
Lesechka [4]
Well I am assuming you want to compare them or something so yeah:

You have to find a common denominator of 4 & 6, so you could multiply them together, this makes 24. Because you have to do the same thing to the top and the bottom, you have to multiply 2/4 (which is now 2/24) by 6, and the 2/6 (which again is 2/24) by 4 which leaves you with 12/24 (2/4) and 8/24 (2/6).

We can simplify these fractions by dividing them, but as you may know 12 is half of 24 so 12/24 would also be 1/2.
If you keep dividing by 2 you will find that 8/24 is also equal to 1/3. This is easier to find out by the beginning number but I mentioned it anyway because I didn't understand what you were asking.

Overall if you noticed when comparing 2/4 and 2/6 we found that Mei Lyn painted more wall than Mario.

Bowling cost $2 to rent shoes,plus $5 per game. Mini golf cost $5 to rent a club, plus $4 per game. How many games would be the
zaharov [31]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Assuming the same number of bowling and mini golf games are played, let x represent the total number of games played, either bowling or mini golf. let y represent the total cost of bowling. Let z represent the total cost of golfing

Bowling cost $2 to rent a club plus $5 per game. It means that the cost, y for x bowling games will be

y = 2 + 5x

Mini golf cost $5 to rent a club, plus $4 per game. It means that the cost, y for x mini golf games will be

z = 5 + 4x

For the total cost to be the same, we will equate both equations(y = zl

2 + 5x = 5 + 4x

5x - 4x = 5 - 2

x = 3

There would be 3 games before total cost would be the same

an=7+(n-1)2 is the general rule for the nth term of the arithmetic sequence 7,9,11,13,15 ... true or false ?
vovikov84 [41]

Answer:

True

Step-by-step explanation:

The n th term rule for an arithmetic sequence is

a_{n} = a + (n - 1)d

where a is the first term and d the common difference

here d = 9 - 7 = 2 and a = 7, thus

a_{n} = 7 + 2(n - 1)

a local hamburger shop sold a combined total of 572 hamburgers and cheeseburgers on Thursday. there were 72 more cheeseburgers s
Helga [31]

Answer: 250 hamburgers

Step-by-step explanation: x= hamburgers

If there are 72 more cheeseburgers than hamburgers there are:

x+72

The number of cheeseburgers and hamburgers=572 so:

572= x+72+x

Then solve

572=x+72+x

572=2x+72

-72 -72

———————

500=2x

500/2=2x/2

250=x
